Future Educators Conference

East HS Future Educators of America students recently attended a conference from Colonial IU20 and PA Training and Technical Assistance where they discussed the importance of family engagement and building relationships with families.

Odyssey of the Mind

Congratulations to the East HS Odyssey of the Mind team, who came in third place in states!

Science Olympiad Regional Competition

The East HS Science Olympiad team recently competed in the Northeast Regional competition and earned a spot in the State competition next month. The team finished third for the second year in a row, setting a school record for most medals earned with every member earning at least one medal! 

Chess Team State Championships

The East HS Chess Team recently placed 3rd at the PA State Chess Championship. Winners include 1st place sectional trophy - Joseph McKingley (12th) & Mikael Oh (9th), 2nd place sectional trophy - Sam Oh (11th) and 1st place in division - Marcel Hecht (11th).

Mock Trial Competition

The East HS Mock Trial team recently participated in a competition where the defense team beat the opposing plaintiff team. On the Plaintiff Team, Jizell Moore (9th) won Best Advocate and Madison Hoyumpa (12th) won Best Witness. On the Defense Team, Aleah Ramdeo (10th) won Best Advocate and Isabella Alzakzok (10th) won Best Witness.

Jazz Band

East HS Jazz Band Ensemble recently attended the Steel Stacks Jazz Showcase. They were given an excellent rating and were awarded best trumpet section - Sonny Angulo, Harvey Downs, Abigail Malyczko, Melody Plywaczewski, and Adrian Rivera. Sonny Angulo also won the best solo trumpet award.

PJAS Winners

East HS PA Junior Academy of Science members recently attended the PJAS regional meeting where 17 students earned 1st place, including 5 perfect scores and 1 excellent award. Four students also earned 2nd place awards.

SkillsUSA District Competition Winners
